gerbil tower of power

The Gerbil Tower of Power* is quite possibly the awesomest gerbil habitat add on ever invented. It totally turns any measly 10 gallon aquarium into a multi-level gerbil “building”. It’s what I’ve wanted to invent all year, but apparently has already been done for me.

The gerbils seem to enjoy the add on. It more than doubles their living space. and since the add on is all wire there’s lots of circulation and open air for them now.

I think I’ve finally figured out the appeal of having gerbils. It’s sort of like playing The Sims. You get to re arrange things and pick their furniture and build their home and pick treats and food and then you get to see how they react. It’s nice having two cause they interact in such curious ways. It’s like having a mini reality show in my living room.

And they’re so damn cute. Okay, I guess that’s enough rambling from the crazy gerbil lady now.

*this is the name Riley gave it, and I like it. I’m going to make a huge sign to put up over it.

But don’t forget to make them go to the bathroom. Your SimGerbils will suffer from major self-esteem issues if you make them pee on themselves.

Seriously, though, that’s a cool add-on. What’s its official name? My girlfriend and I want to get dwarf hamsters again, but we need something spacious and, more importantly, cat proof. So far, we haven’t had a lot of luck with finding something that we would trust our clever cat not to be able to open.

it’s just called the “small animal high rise” which isn’t nearly as awesome sounding as “gerbil tower of power.” The box has pictures of like 5 year olds with fuzzy hamsters and a bubbly font.

we have a cat but the cat doesn’t know how to jump very high. I’m not sure how cat proof the wire frame would be, although you could always encase it in a second layer of wire fencing/cage or whatever.

The box has pictures of like 5 year olds with fuzzy hamsters and a bubbly font. Well, that should help narrow it down. Heh. :) ‘Gerbil Tower of Power’ is a better name.

For us, I think a second layer of fencing for us would have to be something like concertina wire to keep the cat out, but I think we always knew that extraordinary measures would be necessary.
