I got back on last Saturday night. I was really ready to come home… as much as I love traveling and seeing cool stuff, I still love being back in Seattle. And having been to several other cities, I still think I would rather live here.
I spent most of Sunday moving all my crap into our new house, which is slowly starting to look like an actual house now… getting stuff set up slowly and kinda getting situated. It’s slowly getting cuter too. It’s nice not living in the U-district.
Classes look like they’re going to be pretty cool. I’ll be researching diabetes for info design and doing a school of art catalogue or something for publication design. My 1 credit animation production seminar looks like it’ll be pretty sweet too. Just different people talking about various aspects of the animation industry. I’m pretty excited for it.
The stuff I did for Arriba is up now too. It’s weird seing that menu board all lit up and stuff. I guess I’ve just never really done anything so big. I’m not sure how I feel about it. I mean it’s kind of neat that I made it, but I don’t know how much I actually like it or the other stuff I did for Arriba. Dunno if it’s portfolio-able or not… I mean it’s cool that I got to do such a big comprehensive thing, but it’s not my favorite thing ever.
The animation-predicament seems to be constantly popping up. I don’t know what it is. It just seems that it’s what gets me the most excited, but something I don’t know if I’d actually be able to do. Dunno. I feel like I don’t have enough time to learn all the things I want to learn. It’s already my senior year… then I have to start working and doing “real” things… not even 9 months away!
in other news: my doodle diary from the trip to Rome shall be scanned soon and available for perusal, printing, or purchasing (if you were so inclined).
