Congrats

Booyah Barack Obama!

To Obama of course. But also to Sender and Mo/de the design firms behind his campaign. That’s got to be one hell of a portfolio piece. I’m imagining the case study report now: Obama’s branding, got millions of people excited, got elected president. And props to Shepard Fairy for one of the most influential and widespread and adaptable poster designs I’ve seen in my lifetime. I guess all that past propaganda engineering experience helped. And design history was making me think poster design for social change was a dying art. I better see that poster in every design history book from here on out.

But anyways. I just wanted to post that picture of Riley’s awesome cake. It’s amazing how much happier everyone’s been after Tuesday night. I love that Kenya declared today a public holiday to celebrate. And I love this video of all these moms in Kenya naming their kids after Barack and Michelle. Which is way cooler than the guy who named his new born Sarah McCain Palin without even telling his wife.
