Here’s an awkward family portrait I found from 1990. I don’t know why everyone looks so unhappy to be forced into posing for this awkward photo, but I think it’s kinda funny. My mom’s hair and shoulder pads are huge. I have a mullet.
In other news, I’ve been obsessing over building a Tagtool the past couple of days. I’ve seen tons of arduino-based project tutorials out there but this is the first one that I actually feel really compelled to build. Maybe because it seems the most applicable and useful. And not terribly complicated. I’ve been dreaming up interesting interfaces for it. I had all these crazy ideas but I think I’ll be keeping this first one pretty simple for now. It is after all going to be my first real electronic project. I figure it’s probably better to follow the instructions for now. I ordered most of the parts the other night so I think I can figure out the case once I have the parts in my hands. I’m trying to scavenge as much as possible because all these little bits and pieces get expensive! Luckily Kevin gave me an old Wacom tablet from work that no one needed and I already have an arduino so that reduces my costs a bit. I’m still looking for a few things. Mainly a usb gamepad with 2 joysticks (like the PS controller) and a projector. Oh how I long to have my own projector!! And I’m in need of some soldering tools. And tools to cut wood or plastic. Anyways we’ll see how it goes. If I do get it finished I know my first test run is going to be on The Troll.
